CFLC Students Serve as Volunteers for XMU Centenary Celebration

During the XMU Centenary Celebration, 628 CFLC students, nearly half of the CFLC’s student body, worked as volunteers for event preparations, forums, conferences, symposia and alumni reception. During their service, the CFLC student volunteers demonstrated leadership skills, participant-oriented service and team spirit. While providing integral operational support to the events, students enhanced their communicative competence, gained opportunities to network with alumni and fellow student volunteers, and receive an enriching volunteering experience.

In the lead-up to the Centenary Celebration, the CFLC Student Volunteer Action Guidance Center actively cooperated with the XMU Student Association in the information release and volunteer selection work. The center promptly released volunteer recruitment information in the online system and meticulously screened applicants, eventually selecting a number of hardworking volunteers for the University. Moreover, nearly 400 CFLC students served in wide-ranging volunteer positions during CFLC’s “XMU Centenary Celebration Week” events.

CLFC student volunteers train hard for the XMU Centenary Celebration

In order to enhance student volunteers’ service skills, CFLC organized a series of training sessions at the end of March and conducted targeted pre-service training for volunteers. Wu Shanshan, secretary of CFLC’s Communist Youth League, Zhang Bin, CFLC’s administrative secretary and other staff members held talks on etiquette, reception and communication. They called on students to devote themselves to the work with enthusiasm and dedication. CFLC also invited Cai Qiu, a member of the XMU’s etiquette team, to explain and demonstrate etiquette for the volunteers. Through the training, the volunteers gained a deeper understanding of duties and became familiar with all service procedures, laying a solid foundation for providing high-quality volunteer services.

At the venue of CFLC’s International Forum on Humanities and Social Sciences, student volunteers performed their respective duties while working closely together, completing all tasks with efficiency and in an orderly manner. Members of the reception team were courteous and attentive, responding promptly to visitors’ questions. Members of the conference service team were meticulous and focused, ensuring the smooth running of the conferences. Members of the publicity team bustled around the venues, carefully documenting the forums ... The volunteers’ joint efforts and outstanding performance contributed to the success of three events.
