Sun Yanshan, a CFLC student of the Class of 2016, was appointed a ??health ambassador?? at the ??Wonderful Youth ?C Red Ribbon Health Ambassadors on University Campuses?? Appointment Ceremony held at Xiamen University on April 26.

      At the ceremony, Ju Ping, the renowned presenter of the Youth Program at the China Central Television, and Shen Na, a celebrated soprano with the China National Opera House, presented appointment certificates to Miss Sun and 11 other XMU students in the Jiannan Auditorium on campus.

      As a ??health ambassador??, Miss Sun will take part in public awareness and education campaigns organized by government agencies to address HIV prevention, treatment, care and research.

      During the ceremony, Miss Sun stated that she was delighted to receive the appointment and that she would dedicate herself to campaigns spreading awareness about HIV and AIDS and to other civic and charitable programs.

      Miss Sun has previously been named a ??star of self-empowerment among Chinese university students?? for her outstanding record of academic performance and exemplary service on student volunteer programs for disadvantaged groups despite her physical handicap.
