CFLC’s Language Cognitive Intelligence Lab Earns Key Provincial Lab Status

Xiamen University’s Language Cognitive Intelligence Laboratory, located at CFLC, has achieved the esteemed recognition of being designated a key laboratory in the field of philosophy and social sciences by the Fujian Provincial Government. As a multidisciplinary laboratory rooted in the discipline of “Foreign Languages and Literature,” it seamlessly integrates research, teaching, and societal engagement.


Guided by principles of scientific planning, project leadership, resource sharing, and distinctiveness, the laboratory capitalizes on Xiamen University’s renowned expertise in foreign languages and literature. It leverages resources from diverse disciplines, focusing on cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence and human language science. Research areas include language development and disorders, language intelligence and assessment, and the quantifiable evaluation of quality and acceptance in human and machine translation. Through driving theoretical, institutional, and practical innovation, the laboratory aims to advance the frontiers of language and translation studies, while leading the digitalization and intelligence of foreign language education.


The laboratory seamlessly integrates academic and research resources, enhancing its ability to attract top-tier talent from domestic and international institutions.
