CFLC Hosts MOA’s German Language Education Steering Committee

The 2023 annual conference of the German Language Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education was successfully held at CFLC from October 27th to 29th. With the theme of “German Language Teaching and Research: New Missions, Technologies, and Strategies,” the conference brought together German language program directors from over 80 universities nationwide, as well as experts and scholars from prestigious institutions such as the Goethe Institute and the German Academic Exchange Service.


During the conference, attendees participated in opening speeches, keynote presentations, specialized reports, and group discussions. Notably, Professor Jia Wenjian, as the chief editor of the “New Classic German” textbook series, discussed the cultural teaching philosophy and strategies of the innovative textbooks. Sabine Wilmes, Deputy Director of the Goethe Institute Beijing Branch, emphasized the importance of fostering interest in German language learning and strengthening cultural exchange. The conference also featured presentations on various topics, including the exploration of new approaches to German language teaching and research in the era of smart empowerment.


The event provided a platform for fruitful discussions and knowledge exchange among experts and scholars in the field. It concluded with a summary by Professor Cong Mingcai, Deputy Chairman of the German Language Education Steering Committee, who hailed the conference as a resounding success.
