CFLC Hosts Opening Ceremony for Part-time MTI Students

On July 16, CFLC held the opening ceremony for its part-time Master of Translation and Interpreting program. The ceremony was attended by Dean Chen Jing, English Department Chair Su Wei, Japanese Department Chair Ma Yingping, faculty representative Xiao Xiaoyan, and part-time translation master’s students from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts. Vice Dean Xin Zhiying presided over the ceremony, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey.


In her opening speech, Dean Chen warmly welcomed and congratulated the students for choosing the translation profession and CFLC. She praised their commitment to bridging cultural gaps and advancing international communication. Dean Chen expressed appreciation for their selection of the esteemed institution, which has a rich history in the translation field and a reputation for excellence.


Dean Chen acknowledged the unique challenges faced by part-time students, who balance their studies with family and societal responsibilities. She assured the students that CFLC has meticulously planned every aspect of their education, from curriculum design to faculty support. Dean Chen encouraged the students to make the most of their time at CFLC and wished them a fulfilling and successful learning experience.


Chair Su Wei emphasized the collaborative nature of the translation discipline's development. Representing the students, Li Xiang expressed gratitude to CFLC for providing them with a platform to continue their academic pursuits.
