XMU Center for Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning Signs Cooperation MOU with Qingdao World War I Site Museum

On December 14, the XMU Center for Civilizational Exchange signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation with the Qingdao World War I Site Museum at the museum. The MOU aims to establish a long-term cooperative relationship and promote high-level research in civilizational exchange.


Liu Zhaomin, Director of the Qingdao World War I Site Museum, the only comprehensive thematic museum in China dedicated to showcasing the impact of World War I on the country, highlighted their successful collaborations with renowned domestic universities. He emphasized the museum’s vital role in preserving national memory and stressed the significance of the long-term partnership. He expressed hopes that the cooperation would foster communication between the museum and XMU, facilitate high-quality research, and contribute to the development of high-level university think tanks.


Associate Dean Liu Yue of CFLC outlined the future cooperation between the XMU Center for Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning and the museum. The focus will be on moral education, talent cultivation, collaborative research based on historical documents, and personnel exchanges. Liu Yue emphasized the advantages of utilizing foreign language talents to promote the dissemination of China’s stories and expressed a strong commitment to producing high-quality research outcomes through joint efforts.


The XMU Center for Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning and the Qingdao World War I Site Museum will actively explore in-depth cooperation, providing a platform for cultural exchange, think tank collaboration, and talent cultivation.


Established in April 2023, the XMU Center for Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning conducts research on civilizational exchange, regional studies, multilingual translation, and international dissemination of academic research results. It focuses on studying the international communication and influence of Chinese civilization, as well as fostering communication and understanding among different civilizations and cultures.
