The forum featured keynote speeches, parallel forums, and roundtable discussions, inviting renowned scholars from both domestic and international institutions. The theme of the forum was “Journey of Literature and Art: Interplay and Reflection,” highlighting the importance of cultural exchange and the role of literature and art in shaping societies.

During the opening ceremony, Professor Su Yuxiao from Xiamen University presided over the event, and speeches were delivered by Professor Jiang Hongxin, Party Secretary of Hunan Normal University, and Professor Chen Jing, Dean of CFCL. They emphasized the significance of the forum in promoting academic exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations.

The keynote speeches covered a wide range of topics, including the influence of Western and Chinese poetic traditions, the exploration of homesickness in literature, the impact of English Renaissance poetry on Chinese sonnets, and the phenomenon of cultural appropriation in Japanese films. The scholars provided valuable insights into the complexities of comparative literature and intercultural studies.

Parallel forums were divided into "Literature and Media" and "Literature and Travel" categories, where scholars discussed the fusion of literature with various mediums such as photography, music, film, and broadcasting, as well as the exploration of different literary genres in the context of travel and self-identity.

The forum concluded with a closing ceremony, where Professor Xu Qi, Party Secretary of CFLC, expressed gratitude to the participants and highlighted the importance of comparative literature and intercultural studies in promoting mutual learning and building a community with a shared future for mankind.

The successful forum showcased Xiamen University's commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to advancing comparative literature and intercultural studies. It provided a platform for scholars to exchange ideas and explore new perspectives in the field. The forum's outcomes will contribute to the development of foreign language disciplines and the promotion of cultural exchanges between different civilizations.
